Friends of Ore Station - Gardenscapedirect

Friends of Ore Station

Since October 2024, we have supplied Friends of Ore Station, as they transformed a derelict area of land next to Ore Station into a vibrant community garden.

Suz Horgan and her team have worked hard to clear the undergrowth and transform the area, which now features a flower garden, vegetable patch, children’s play area, and small pond. The garden will offer a fantastic space for local young people to grow and learn, with projects such as art installations, community events and gardening/growing activities.
The garden provides a great showcase for a wide range of Gardenscape products, including our: 4-10mm Shingle, Topsoil / Manure / Perlite Mix, Groundtex Membrane, Screen Surface Woodchip, Topsoil / Peat-Free Compost Mix and Horticultural Grit.
The garden was officially opened on Friday 23rd May, by the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex Mr Andrew Blackman.

Also in attendance: MP for Hastings Helena Dollimore, leader of Hastings Borough Council Cllr Glenn Haffenden, Mayor of Hastings Cllr Becca Horn and Sussex Police
District Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Lauren Buck. Representation from community rail and Hastings Borough Council, Southern and Southeastern rail operating companies, colleagues from Network Rail’s Ore Tunnel contractors, Volker Fitzpatrick.

Thanks very much to Suz and the team for having us along to celebrate, the garden looks wonderful!
